 The IW 266 WCC is a premium grade Quiet Cone™wool/carbon in-wall center channel system designed to optimize high end multi channel systems. Turned 90 degrees it also makes an excellent main left and right channel system. Proprietary cast wool /carbon Quiet Cone™ woofers, and 1” Vifa™ silk dome tweeter provide outstanding performance with superior dynamics and power bandwidth. Dialogue intelligibility, precise tonality and high power handling are much higher than any standard inwall speaker. A rugged 1” wide aluminum mounting frame (not plastic) is fastened to a massive ¾” thick MDF baffle. Source Tech  proprietary inner support trestle bar assembly is comprised of  ¾” thick rigid 13 ply birch  and couples, via ¼” steel bolts, to provide a much higher level of rigidity and support. “Flexing”, common to standard plastic based inwalls, is a form of detrimental phase distortion caused by “moving panels”. This is eliminated in the IW 266 WC . A significant improvement in performance is realized because the front baffle/wall interface DOES NOT “move”.  A minimum phase HQ crossover includes polypropylene capacitors and a customized level control that optimizes high frequency response for prevailing room acoustics.
